Renaissance Society of America Research Fellowships

The Renaissance Society of America is pleased to announce that the 2017 Research Fellowship competition is now open. For the 2017 cycle, the RSA will award up to thirty-three (33) individual fellowships to scholars working in the field of Renaissance studies. Fellowships are made possible by donations from RSA members, and grants from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. A link to the application site and details about the application process, eligibility, residential fellowships, non-residential fellowships, and publication subventions are available on the RSA Fellowships webpage. The deadline for applying is 10 November 2016. New for the 2017 fellowship cycle: the membership requirement for all applicants has changed. Starting this year, you only need to be a member at the time you apply and then also to renew for 2017. To submit an application, you’ll need to log into your RSA account. Model proposals, a recorded webinar, and statistics about previous fellowship cycles are intended to provide additional information about the application process. The stipend is $3,000 for one month of research ($4,000 for those traveling to research outside of their home continent). During the past five years, the RSA has awarded fellowships to more than 100 scholars working on topics from the fourteenth to the seventeenth century; a list of previous award winners is posted on the RSA website. Best of luck to all applicants. The Renaissance Society of America
